Product Description
Caustic soda pearls, also known as solid sodium hydroxide, are white, translucent pearls that dissolve readily in water with the release of significant heat. This product is highly corrosive and must be kept away from direct contact with skin and eyes.
Industrially, caustic soda pearls serve as a vital chemical feedstock, extensively used in papermaking, synthetic detergent production, textile printing and dyeing, and water treatment. Additionally, food-grade products compliant with national standards exist, functioning as acidity regulators and processing aids within the food industry.
Storage
Caustic soda pearls must be stored in a cool, dry, well-ventilated warehouse. The warehouse should be kept away from ignition sources and heat sources, and protected from direct sunlight. Due to its strong hygroscopicity, packaging must be strictly sealed to prevent exposure to moist air and subsequent deliquescence.
Due to its highly corrosive nature, caustic soda must be stored separately from incompatible substances such as acids, metal powders, flammable materials, and combustible substances. Never store them together. The warehouse should be equipped with emergency leak response equipment and suitable containment materials.
Transportation
During transportation of caustic soda pearls, ensure packaging remains fully sealed and affix prominent corrosive material labels. Transport vehicles must be kept clean and dry, with adequate covering to prevent product exposure to rain and moisture.
Handle with care during loading and unloading to prevent packaging damage. Strictly prohibit mixed loading or transportation with acids, flammable materials, food-grade chemicals, or similar substances. Vehicles must carry leak emergency response equipment, and drivers/operators must understand caustic soda's corrosive properties and emergency procedures.
