The latest data from the National Bureau of Statistics shows that from January to February 2026, China’s caustic soda (100% equivalent) output reached 7.863 million metric tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.6%.
Upstream, China’s crude salt output from January to February was 7.202 million metric tons, a year-on-year increase of 12.0%.
On the downstream side, China’s alumina output reached 15.18 million metric tons in January–February, up 0.2% year-on-year; output of manufactured paper and paperboard (excluding processing of purchased base paper) stood at 25.647 million metric tons, up 3.1% year-on-year; fabric production totaled 4.36 billion meters, up 4.6% year-on-year; and synthetic detergent production reached 1.838 million metric tons, up 6.8% year-on-year.
